Everyone in our group is nostalgic when it comes to Runescape. We used to play in middle school and high school, but never gotten around to exploring the full game. Getting super geared, maxed stats, teleporting everywhere were things that we always wanted to do!
Our client comes with a different interface. It features multiplayer, persistence (game states), avatar, chat, and everything else from Bartle's definition. Networking is a hassle, but we made Hamachi work.
Preparation:
1. Download Hamachi from one of the following.
**If you are just hosting locally, you don't need Hamachi.
2. Create an account and set up a server Hamachi for Windows Hamachi for Mac
4. Download our server that we modified from moparscape. Moparscape Server
*Note: If you are windows you should use both (to see our pretty client).
If you are Mac just use Moparscape
Steps:
5. Open Moparscape, and click start server. Then login.
6. If you are using Hamachi, connect to the host. Take their ipv4.
7. Open Mopar/CS185scape (if CS185scape, run runserver.bat file) click the top left (File/Menu) and change ip.
8. Log in!
Resources/Tips:
Building a private server can be tedious, but easy. It depends on where you look and how hard you look. Since most of the resources are pretty outdated, sometimes it gets hard to find what you are looking for.
